#LivableLuxury With Pets

Animal lovers are no strangers to messes. From puppies to seniors, dogs and cats alike can put a beating on your flooring. But that doesn’t stop us from loving them! So when it comes to your home, does that mean you have to compromise quality for your four-legged family members? Not in the slightest! Perkinson offers pet-friendly flooring and rug options for any homes that would prefer a more durable style due to furry family members. The flooring not only looks phenomenal but can withstand whatever curveballs your pets throw their way.

We let our Director of Livable Luxury, Beckett Perkinson, show Lilly around the Navesink recently. She was very impressed with how pet-friendly the home was, and got to try out the floors first hand! While we didn’t capture all of Beckett’s tour, we were able to get some main points off of him, and we’d love to share them with you.

Stanton StainmasterⓇ PetProtect Rug

The StainmasterⓇ PetProtect carpet rugs, as featured in the dining room of the Navesink are perfect with homes with pets. Not only are they gorgeous additions that tie into the decor and style of the home, but they’re easy to maintain! These rugs and carpets resist pet stains like urine, vomit, and feces. They also release pet hair easily, making vacuuming a breeze! With locked-in colors, and SuperiaSD Nyon fibers, it’s built to withstand foot traffic, and won’t diminish the color or design of your rug!

Engineered White Oak Hardwood Floor

Hardwood floors are beautiful and provide great resale value for your home, but there are some things to keep in mind! You’ll want to avoid soft woods like pine or fir. White oak is ideal for homes with pets, because it is durable, and ranks high on the Janka scale. When it comes to picking the color of the floor, a lighter color along with a “distressed” rustic look will show fewer scratches. While this flooring will withstand wear and tear better than others, it’s still important to keep your pet nails short, in addition to adding area rugs for high traffic areas to cut down on excessive damage.

Luxury Vinyl Tile & Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring

Just like the StainmasterⓇ PetProtect Rug, StainmasterⓇ also produces a luxury flooring that has a lot to offer! Their flooring is 100% waterproof and resists odor from pet accidents. In addition to those two features, it also boasts Pet ClawShield™ and Pet ActionTraction™; all these amazing features are available in their 17 styles of flooring.

While we haven’t come across flooring that resists stains AND cleans them up (yet), we’re always looking for ways to achieve #LivableLuxury! They are multiple manufacturers we work with to give you the ideal flooring for your home. We’d like to thank our friends at Old Dominion Flooring and Evans Carpet for providing us with resources and assisting our clients with all their flooring needs!
